Chuck Rogers is the afternoon show host at The Point which works out well because he's off work in time to make his Wednesday night poker game. He likes The Point better than any of his previous career stops because dogs and kids are allowed in the building. Prior to working at The Point, he was Executive Producer of a radio talk show, "A World of Possibilities," based in Arcata and syndicated nationally and internationally. Before that, he worked as a journalist at CBS and ABC TV and radio stations across the country. Chuck grew up in Louisiana and, yes, he does cook all that cajun and creole stuff. Specialties: Jambalaya, Gumbo, Shrimp Creole and Red Beans & Rice. His love of music is directly traceable to his roots. When he was old enough to walk, his parents started taking him to music venues in New Orleans and he has vivid memories of strolling the streets of the French Quarter where blues, funk, r & b, jazz, folk, rock and fusions of all of those come at you from every side. He has some degrees from a bunch of schools and, fortunately, being a radio dj makes the best possible use of all that education as well as keeping him from wandering the streets. Chuck has lived in this area for 11 years and has two sons. He enjoys playing disc golf with his kids, hiking in the dunes and, though not much of a movie critic, does enjoy film and thinks Ferris Bueller's Day Off rises to level of high cinematic art. Catch Chuck on the air weekday afternoons from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
