Ron Cohn

Ron Cohn’s previous Beatle radio show, “Brunch With the Beatles,” ran Sunday mornings for six years on our sister station, KHUM. During Ron’s tenure at KHUM BWTB became one of the most popular specialty shows on the air. The listening audience treasured his magnificent collection of Beatle music, both original and rare recordings. In addition to the music, those shows featured numerous interviews with musicians, authors, engineers, and celebrities who have been associated with the Beatles. One of the highlights of the six-year run was the 100th show in October 2001, a live audience participation show in Arcata, which became a benefit to aid the New York City relief effort for 9/11. Listeners were lined up around the block for their chance to get in the club, and the giveaways of Beatles books and memorabilia spurred participants to contribute thousands of dollars. After a year and a half hiatus, Ron returned to the air on The Point in January 2007 with a new Beatles show, cunningly named “Back With The Beatles,” the double entendre obvious. Loyal listeners of Ron and devoted fans of the Fab Four tune in every Tuesday night at 6 PM for two hours of music from the best and most influential rock band of all time. The current show format features Ron’s great collection of Beatles’ music, and also music associated with the band, including solo performances, and new music as he constantly is updating his library. Typically, Ron encourages listeners’ requests and considers it a staple of BWTB.
